My research focuses mainly on the dynamics of PhD candidates’ identity during the doctorate, and the consequences on their motivation and professional aspirations. The goal is to understand the factors that shape social identity during the doctorate, for instance with the transitionning from a “student” identity to a “professional” one.

My name is Nicolas, I’m a psychologist and a PhD candidate in social psychology working with Adoc Talent Management. I’m attached to the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Studies on the Doctorate and my work focuses on identity dynamics during the PhD and how they influence a PhD student’s future prospects and motivation.

For my thesis, I am supervised by David Bourguignon at the PerSEUS laboratory at the University of Lorraine and by Grégory Lo Monaco at the ADEF laboratory at the University of Aix-Marseille.
