This study examined doctoral supervision from the perspective of supervisors. It focused on supervisory practices, relationships with PhD candidates, as well as a challenges encountered and resources mobilised in the context of supervision. The objective was to gain a better understanding of current doctoral supervision realities and to identify emerging needs among supervisors.
Supervising a PhD candidate involves multiple responsabilities and can present a range of challenges.
This study aimed to give supervisors the opportunity to share their experiences in order to better understand their practices, the difficulties they encounter and the factors that support them in their role.
The findings are intended to inform reflections on how doctoral supervision conditions and resources can be improved.
This study was conducted as an online survey targeting doctoral supervisors currently supervising at least one PhD candidate, across all disciplines. Data were collected during the designated data collection period. Participation was voluntary and anonymous. Recruitment for this study is now completed.
